mms business awards 20131 3The Cartrefi Conwy Judges' Choice Award went to Mon Maintenance Services Ltd, which was created by redundant workers at Anglesey Aluminium.

Stephen Evans, director at Môn Maintenance, said: “We are delighted to win the award, this is for the lads that work with us and the hard work they put in. We are really surprised because we never expected to win.”

"High flying businesses were celebrated in spectacular fashion at the Daily Post’s Achievement Wales Business Awards 2013.

Businesses from across the region came to Venue Cymru to be recognised for their achievements over the last 12 months.

Every winner and nominee was cheered and applauded in a fantastic atmosphere in the packed reception room.

The evening, which saw £3,000 raised for Ty Gobaith, was hosted by newsreader Nicholas Owen who said he had great admiration for all the businesses that had been shortlisted.

Former Wales scrum half Rupert Moon gave a cracking speech in which he said firms had displayed great character and were showing that they could make the “impossible, possible”.

Star tenor Rhys Meirion and opera star Sioned Terry entertained guests with special performances during the meal.

The headline sponsor of the awards is the Welsh Government, who support entrepreneurship through Business Wales.
